Does SEO Certification Necessary

What’s your opinion on SEO Certification? Does this really make sense? Do the companies that offer SEO Certifications really do it for making the SEO crowd more knowledgeable or just doing it for money sake? I have recently tried one SEO Certification, in which they offer some 20% deduction in exam fees for all those who attend a simple quiz like application. Even if we answer 5 questions out of 20 we get the same deduction in fee structure and for my surprise the same applies even if you complete the quiz with 20 out of 20. So what you guys think about this? If you have tried out any such SEO Certification, do let everyone know here and the pros and cons that particular program has.
